A balanced 60 by 60 percale is 120 TC. A balanced 100 by 100 is 200 TC. Some labels multiply by the number of plies and call a two-ply 100 TC cloth "200 TC." That is a marketing count, not a sett. This page uses ends plus picks on singles, 24s/1 and 38s/1, so a brand can audit the claim. 120–200 TC bed linen is a sett range, not a quality grade by itself. An open 120 TC in a very fine yarn feels thin. A dense 200 TC in a coarse yarn may not weave as a plain cloth. Cover factor, threads per inch divided by the square root of the English count, tells you which. Plain weave is comfortable near a cover of 12 per side and crowded near 14.
