Polyester bedding and overnight skin contact is a duration story. Sheets, pillowcases, and fitted covers can sit against skin for a third of the day. That does not turn a mattress into a clinic, but it does change how textile exposure science thinks about contact time compared with a jacket worn for a commute. ### Wrinkle-Resistant and Easy-Care Resins

Formaldehyde-releasing or formaldehyde-related wrinkle resins have a long history in cellulosic and blended home textiles aimed at a smooth sleep surface. They appear in textile chemical inventories because dermal sensitization and residual finish questions are part of how labs and RSLs treat treated cloth. Presence on a process list is not automatic proof of harm from every washed sheet; it is a reason sourcing teams ask for finish disclosure on bedding programs that market "no iron" performance.

### Stain, Softener, and Performance Packages

Softeners, soil-release packages, and stain stories can add further chemistry to a polyester or poly-blend sheet. ## What a Plant-Fiber Bedding Spec Changes

A hemp or US Hemp / US Supima construction does not invent a medical sleep therapy. It changes the material biography of the cloth that occupies the longest dermal contact window in the home:

- No PET filament means no polyester microplastic shed from that layer.
