What HFGA-TX-US-01 sets
The HFGA US Hemp Textile Standard is a technical standard from the Hemp Fiber and Grain Association that defines how US-grade industrial hemp bast fiber is graded and documented for textile use: three fiber grades, permitted retting methods, a restricted-substance list, and field-to-bale traceability, with the test methods and sampling that verify all of it.
Fiber grades
Three measured grades, TX-A to TX-C, by fineness, length, strength, and cleanliness.
Retting methods
Field, tank, enzymatic, or steam, declared per lot, chlorine-free.
Restricted substances
PFAS, glyphosate, chlorine, formaldehyde, and heavy metals held to strict limits.
Field-to-bale traceability
An unbroken record and lot ID from the standing crop to the baled fiber.
Three fiber grades
The grades aren't a quality ranking, each is a different fiber for a different spinning process. TX-B is wet-spun long-line; Imperium produces TX-A for cotton-system spinning.

farm to fabric
Every conforming lot carries an unbroken record. Five checkpoints, one lot ID, so a finished textile resolves all the way back to the field it grew in.
Farm
USDA-equivalent licence, certified seed lot, parcel geolocation, and a pre-harvest cannabinoid test, logged against every lot before a single stalk is cut.
Retting
Method and degree recorded (field, controlled-tank, enzymatic, or steam) with effluent captured. No chlorinated agents, ever.
Decortication & grading
Line fiber decorticated below 120°C to preserve tenacity, then graded and lab-tested for fineness, length, and strength to Grade TX-A.
Yarn
Spun from graded fiber, with a signed chain-of-custody transfer and a mass balance that reconciles input straw to output fiber within ±3%.
Fabric
Woven or knit with the lot ID intact, so a finished textile resolves all the way back to the field it grew in.
Clean by standard
The restricted-substance list isn't a marketing promise. It's a tested requirement of the standard.
No PFAS
Total organic fluorine under 20 mg/kg, no “forever chemicals.”
No pesticides off-label
Only EPA-labeled inputs; residues within EPA tolerance for hemp.
No glyphosate
Pre-harvest desiccants, glyphosate included, are prohibited outright.
No chlorine bleaching
Peroxide or ozone only. Chlorinated agents disqualify the lot.
Formaldehyde ≤ 16 mg/kg
Free and released formaldehyde held to a strict ceiling.
THC compliant
≤ 0.3% dry weight in feedstock; not detected in delivered fiber.
What compliance means
Under HFGA-TX-US-01, conformity is a property of tested material, not a company badge. Each claim names the standard, its version, the grade, and a specific verified lot, so what you read is exactly what was tested.
Permitted product claim
Imperium Fiber is registered to HFGA-PCP-…, declaring conformity to HFGA-TX-US-01 v1, Grade TX-A, verified lot HFGA-…-2026-…
The claim resolves to a lot and a Lot Verification Record, the same evidence a brand's due-diligence team would audit.
